National Rugby Championship: Nacebe’s Mission

Fiji Airways Fijian Drua first five-eight Peceli Nacebe is determined to make his mark in this year’s Australian National Rugby Championship (NRC).
Nacebe scored twice in the Drua’s 22-22 draw against Brisbane City in the NRC opener.
However, he’s expected to lift his performance in Saturday’s clash against the Western Force at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.
Nacebe told SUNsports that in 2017 he ended his NRC campaign early when he got injured against NSW Country Eagles at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
The Mavua, Nadroga native said before being injured he was in line to win the NRC Rising Star award after three man–of–the– match performances.
It was from there he slipped out of the country to play in France and his position was taken up by Alivereti Veitokani, who is now preparing for the Rugby World Cup with the Flying Fijians.
“I want to thank the coach (Senirusi Seruvakula) for giving me a second chance to prove myself,” he said.
Nacebe said that he still has what it takes to be the best.
“I still have what I showed in 2017 and the Fijian public can expect more if I get more game time, however, there are areas of my game which has improved a lot since I moved to France such as my aerial ability,” he added.
Nacebe who turns 24, next month says he will give his best as the Drua continue to build on their performance from 2018.
The Fiji Airways sponsored side have been unbeaten in their last seven NRC matches as they work towards defending the NRC title.
