Multiple arrests have been made by the Fiji Police Force with support from the public to combat the war on drugs in all the divisions in Fiji.

South:

An IT Technician residing in Nakasi was in possession of two clear plastic bags that contained white crystals believed to be methamphetamine. Investigations continue while the suspect remains in custody.

Officers also discovered pot plants that are believed to be marijuana at a 25-year-old man’s house in Vatuwaqa.

Several sachets of dried leaves, wrapped in aluminium foil believed to be marijuana with $600 in cash was found with a 37-year-old bowser attendant in Kinoya.

A house in Valelevu was raided and a clear plastic containing dried leaves with many bottles filled with more than 100 sachets of dried leaves, again believed to be marijuana was seized by the Fiji Police Force.

Three men who were travelling in a taxi are in custody at the Nasinu Police Station upon being stopped at a roadblock yesterday.

A search conducted by officers resulted in the seizure of a black and white pouch containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana and cash equivalent to $ 3,000.

West

A 50-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man are in custody in Nadi for being in possession of 120 sachets of dried leaves, believed to be marijuana in a house in Waikmau Subdivision.

Two clear plastics of dried leaves wrapped in two clear plastics suspected to be marijuana was found with a 41-year-old man in Lautoka during a snap roadblock check by the Lomolomo Community Post.

A search of his house revealed more rolls of dried leaves which are believed to be marijuana again.

More than 20 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana were found with two 45-year-old men in V.M Pillay Road, Lautoka.

Meanwhile, in Nakorotubu, Ra, a 49-year-old man was arrested following a tip-off from the members of the public and remains in police custody.

More than 200 plants believed to be marijuana were seized from a raid on his farm.

The Rakiraki Police station has a 17-year-old in custody who was found with dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Further questioning of the 17 year-old led the Police to his farm where there were more than 40 plants believed to be marijuana in Nukulau, Ra

North

A team of officers set a raid on a farm that belonged to a 26-year-old man in Vuniyasawa Village.

The Police found buckets of green plants believed to be marijuana.

The plants have been sent for analysis and the suspect is yet to be interviewed.
