Wife: ‘I’ve Lost Life Partner, My Best friend
I have lost not only my life partner but my best friend, lamented Veena Kumari, the wife of late Dharmendra Prasad.
Mr Prasad was found dead under stacks of the burnt cane yesterday morning. He was located by the National Fire Authority and Police.
On Monday, he told Ms Kumari that he was going to put out the fire in his sugarcane farm with his nephew.
And that was the last conversation, she said, she had with him.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident saying the 60-year-old farmer of Korovuto, Ba, was discovered dead yesterday morning.
“My children are both overseas. My son is in New Zealand and my daughter is in Australia and they kept asking me over and over why did I let my husband go to the farm,” she said.
