Air Niugini commenced its new nonstop service to Nadi on Thursday.

The airline, in its comments on the new route, said the flight time, which was just over 4.5 hours offered the fastest route between Papua New Guinea and Fiji.

Flight

The flight is operated by Boeing 737 aircraft offering complimentary indi­vidual in-flight entertainment in eve­ry seat, along with, the airline stated, Air Niugini’s famous on board hospi­tality.

The flight, PX086 departs Port Moresby Airport (POM) at 0955am on Thursdays, arriving in Nadi at 1645pm, in time to connect with Fiji Airways domestic flights to Suva or longer haul destinations in the USA.

PX087 departs Nadi at 0830 am on Fridays, arriving in Port Moresby at 1130am, from where customers can connect to most Air Niugini domes­tic destinations as well as further afield such as Manila.

November flights

The flights will depart Port Mores­by on Saturdays beginning from November 2, 2019 and depart Nadi to Port Moresby from Sundays begin­ning from November 3.

Air Niugini operates twice weekly services to Nadi one nonstop and the other via Honiara.

Service via Honiara

The airline says from October 27 the service via Honiara will also be oper­ated by the larger Boeing 737 aircraft instead of Fokker 100 which would be in time for the Christmas rush.

Offers

Introductory offers were being of­fered before September 30 to travel to Nadi from Port Moresby with the introductory “Bula” fare at K1,255 one-way inclusive of taxes and air­port charges.

Also, commencing today Air Niugi­ni flights to Honiara have increased from four to five weekly, and will fur­ther increase to six weekly from Oc­tober 27, making it more convenient to travel between
