The Fiji SUN farewelled deputy sports editor, Anasilini Natoga on Thursday.

Natoga who had worked for nine years with the Fiji SUN is taking up her new posting as the sports editor of the Vanuatu Daily Post.

Fiji SUN managing editor for sports Leone Cabenatabua said Natoga started in 2010 as an intern while studying journalism at the Fiji National University.

“We saw her dedication and willingness to learn prompted us to offer her full time employment which she took,” Cabenatabua said.

“Anasilini never looked back. There were others that came with her and had moved on to other media outlets but Anasilini stayed with the Fiji SUN and she has benefited a lot from it.”

He indicated that Natoga has covered many international sporting events like the 2016 Olympic Games, 2018 Commonwealth Games, Pacific Games, Pacific Mini Games along with sports journalism development programmes in Doha and Palau.

Natoga said she cherished her time with the Fiji SUN and has gained a lot of experience by working closely with the publisher/chief executive officer Peter Lomas, Osea Bola, Maika Bolatiki and Nemani Delaibatiki.
