ODPP Stops Proceedings Against Suva Man

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has filed a nolle prosequi against an 18-year-old man who was facing aggravated robbery charges in the High Court in Suva.

Osea Lawedua, 18, appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar on Thursday.

It was alleged that on November 17, 2018, in Suva, Lawedua robbed four different complainants who were FijiFirst party workers of their assorted items and cash. The alleged offence took place outside the Suva City Library between 4 am and 5 am.

State prosecutor from the Office of the DPP filed and served the nolle prosequi (a formal notice to discontinue or dismiss legal proceedings) against the accused.

Justice Goundar discontinued the proceedings against Lawedua and discharged him from the matter.
