The Nadi Airport Golf Club is back in playable condition and grand opening is scheduled for September 29, 2019.

The interim administrators appointed by the members got the golf course to a playable condition within three months and secretary C S Pillay said that the support provided by the members was extremely crucial.

He said they could not have achieved the restoration without the support of businesses who came up with various kinds of help and guidance.

“Jack’s of Fiji, Coastal Rentals ,VC Builders, Smugglers Cove, Mana Rose Co Ltd are a few to mention, ”Pillay said,

We are very grateful to the following companies for their sponsorship in organizing a fundraising 4 player team event at Denarau Golf Club.

“Sincere thanks to South Sea Cruises, Captain Cook, Zipline, Club 57 & Bistro, Skyline Fiji for providing the prizes. The club was able to raise a substantial amount and also wishes to thank all the teams that participated.”

The grand opening is set for September 29 kindly sponsored by Mali Pest Control Ltd.

It will be an individual 18 holes stableford event. Tee off; 9am—12pm.

Singh tops Ba qualifier

Rajen Singh won the A grade carding gross score of 72 during the Ba Golf Club championship qualifier on Sunday.

In the B grade Jyoti Lal showed consistency under pressure to become the first qualifier while in the C grade Ravinesh Chaudhary outclassed the entire field with a score of 81.

Ba Golf captain Rohit Chandra said: “A stroke play event sponsored by an avid fan was also held in conjunction with the championship qualifiers.

“We had a very successful event with many new members joining the club.”

Results: Overall gross – Rajen Singh – 72; Overall Net; Ravinesh Chaudhary – 59; 1st Net – Jyoti Lal – 70; 2nd Net – Ashwin Sharma – 71; 3rd Net – Raven Kumar – 72; Longest Drive – Rajen Singh; NTP – Jyoti Lal.

Junior Division: 1 Yash Kumar, 2 Darshil Kumar.
