A special occasion turned to be an emotional moment for lawyer Akuila Naco, who represented his daughter Miriam Naco during her admission to the bar yesterday.

Mr Naco said he had known that his only daughter had the tenacity and a heart that strived to succeed.

“One of the things I talked about today was excellence over success, which was something instilled within her,” he said.

Mr Naco said yesterday, he was able to reminisce on the many years and the long journey his daughter had been through.

“It’s an emotional time for me personally, It’s one that I will also take with joy and satisfaction,” he said.

Ms Naco said her dad had always been her role model.

“My father is a great man and I do hope to reach his level one day,” she said.

“It’s been a long journey and I am grateful that I manage to make it this far.

“It’s just the beginning of another journey.”

She was grateful to her family for their support, love and guidance.
