Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister Mr Yogesh Karan signed the agreement on behalf of the Fijian Government with Indonesia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations H.E Dian Triansyah Djani.

Rehabilitation works will soon commence at Queen Victoria School  in Tailevu.

This comes after the  signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)  between the Fijian Government and the Indonesian Government yesterday along the margins of the 74th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister Yogesh Karan signed the agreement on behalf of the Fijian Government with Indonesia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dian Triansyah Djani.

Fiji and Indonesia have a long-standing relationship including trade and education.

Indonesia has opened its doors to their top universities for Fijian students to pursue higher education studies.

QVS was among 166 other schools in the country that was damaged by Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston in February, 2016.

The Agreement will enable the Indonesian Government to continue rehabilitation works at the school.

Mr Karan said the Fijian Government was indeed grateful and will ensure that rehabilitation works which is expected soon at QVS will be built to higher standard.
