Miss Vodafone Sugar Festival 2019 is Miss Formscaff, Christal Kapoor.

She was crowned by Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Youth and Sports Parveen Bala at Churchill Park in Lautoka last night.

Ms Kapoor’s moving speech on child labour and the penalties she would impose if she was given the power to do so, added to her winning points.

Earlier in the day, the seven contestants were part of the Pinktober campaign launched at Lautoka TappooCity Mall Outlet.

Vodafone Fiji’s manager sponsorship Adriu Vakarau said the company was honored to raised funds to help those who were battling cancer.

“For the past couple of years, we managed to raise funds for the Fiji Cancer Society to help those fighting cancer,” Mr Vakarau said.

“We are honored to launch our 2019 Pinktober initiative during the final day of the Vodafone Sugar Festival.”

Cancer Society Western Support Group chairperson and carnival committee member, Laisa Tora, acknowledged the major sponsor for launching the campaign during the carnival.

“It is a positive way to address the prevention of breast cancer,” she said.

“I am thankful that during this carnival we will campaign on risk, early detection and the prevention of breast cancer.”
