The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team will be out to deliver the outcome in the first tournament of the 2019-20 Women Sevens Series tournament in Glendale, United States this weekend.

A confident Coach Saiasi Fuli made the comment before the team departed Nadi International Airport yesterday.

Fuli said the team had been preparing well with the help of former reps Isake Katonibau and Sireli Naqelevuki

“We managed to prepare well during the off-season because we know we have a big season ahead,” Fuli said.

“Compared to last year where it was quite challenging due to changes in the middle of the series, we now trained together from the start with the help of Katonibau and Naqelevuki,” he said,

“We managed to put together the squad, introducing some new girls coming out of secondary schools.

“We know it is going to be a tough year because there is a new format for the girls playing back-to-back tournament with men.

“So this means we will play Dubai and Cape Town with the men.

“It’s all about producing results and I’m optimistic the players will deliver the desired outcomes.”

Rusila Nagasau will captain the 12-member squad and will be guided by experienced players and Olympians in Ana Maria Roqica, Raijeli Daveua and Lavenia Tinai.
