RC Manubhai yesterday reopened its revamped $1.5 million branch in Tavua.

This branch would provide ease of shopping to all its retail customers while giving design inspiration to homemakers, architects and building contractors.

Opening

Following the reopening, R.C. Manubhai managing director Dinesh Patel said they planned to open more outlets apart from the 10 they presently have.

Tavua Town Council Acting chief executive officer Praveen Prakash said the new outlet was not only an important milestone for RC Manubhai, but also for the people of Tavua.

They would now have the opportunity to shop in comfort and have a wide range of hardware products at their disposal.

“The new store displays and layout will allow customers to find products with utmost ease.

“The branch operates with a team of experienced staff who are trained to provide excellent customer service,” Ms Prakash said.

Construction outlet

“R.C. Manubhai is a household name in Fiji and is a major player in Fiji’s construction industry.

“The company’s contribution to Fiji’s Economy has been phenomenal and they have been serving the people of Fiji for almost six decades.”

She said re-constructing the outlet was an immense and complex undertaking.

“This is a proud moment for me and for all of us, for every development in the Western Division boosts our economy.

“These are exciting times for Tavua as we are now experiencing growth, and I am confident that it will only continue and we will be among the most developed towns in Fiji. “

Renovation project

R.C. Manubhai managing director Dinesh Patel said the reopening of the branch showcased a new level of ambience and shopping experience for the people of Tavua and Vatukoula.

“What started off as a small renovation project for us developed into the nearly $1.5 million project where the former building was found to be lacking in structural integrity which had to be demolished,” Mr Patel said.

“The R.C. Manubhai Group has continued to grow and diversify and this investment is another example of our trust and faith in the economy.”

He said they were proud that R.C. Manubhai was a household name and a market leader in the hardware and building materials trade in Fiji.

Tribute

Mr Patel paid tribute to the founders of the company who had laid the platform for the recognition and market platform for the RC Manubhai Group.

“Nearly three decades ago we decided to expand in Fiji and, believe it or not, Tavua was the first branch in the expansion plans.”

The Tavua branch was set up to service the then Emperor Gold Mines company and was managed by Mr Patel’s wife, Mayuri Patel.
