A 20-year-old driver is admitted at the Tavua Hospital after the car he was driving veered off the road in Natawa in Tavua on Saturday morning.

The suspect who is alleged to have been driving under the influence of liquor was accompanied by a 19-year-old passenger and heading towards Lautoka are lucky to have escaped serious harm.

The driver will be interviewed soon.

In another case a 9-year-old boy is admitted in stable condition at the Sigatoka Hospital after he was allegeld bumped by a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man.

The suspect was heading towards Nadi when the alleged accident occurred along the Queens Road near Tagitagi in Sigatoka yesterday morning when the victim suddenly crossed the road.

The driver will be questioned soon.

In a separate case a 15-year-old student of Naikabula in Lautoka is admitted in stable condition after she was allegedly bumped by a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old man from Lovu in Lautoka.

The incident occurred on Thursday night along Drasa Avenue.

The victim allegedly ran across the road when she was bumped by the suspect.

Investigations continue.
