Tieti Ready To Make RFMF, Country Proud

Analisa Tieti is excited at the prospect of performing for her country in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Sydney.
She is one of 20 young recruits who are part of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Band 50-member contingent.
The RFMF Naval Division’s Ordinary Seaman, who is from Tabwewa in Rabi, is participating in what is said to be the largest Military Tattoo. The event will take place from October 17 to 19.
The 19-year-old, who plays the horn, had just completed the Navy’s recruitment training programme in April this year.
“I am excited and looking forward to be part of this by representing the RFMF,” she said.
The contingent performed at the Blackrock Camp in Nadi yesterday before leaving the country.
Band Director Major Meli Bulitiliva said: “This tradition goes way back to 1965 where the RFMF participated in Edinburgh, Scotland.
“It was due to the good relationship we had with the British Government.”
Major Bulitiliva was part of the band in 1998.
The contingent returns on October 20.
