Fiji Cancer Society Pink Partners

For 26 years, Fiji Cancer Society has been pleased and proud to provide a range of services to cancer patients as well as cancer education and detection services to the community. These services have been possible with the kind financial and in-kind support received from corporate bodies and individuals.
Running into its third year, NewWorld IGA group has supported Fiji Cancer Society through the sale of pink and blue merchandise at their checkouts.
NewWorld’s Director Anil Patel commented: “We are proud partners and supporters of Fiji Cancer Society and their worthy cause. We encourage our customers, service providers and the wider community, in general, to also support the same.”
NewWorld IGA works within their suppliers’ network to be able to provide a per cent of the sales of a particular brand that is donated to the Society.
Fiji Cancer Society chief executive officer Belinda Chan said that funds raised from the sale of these merchandise has enabled the Society to boost our services to patients and the purchasing of diagnostic equipment that was handed over to the obstetrics and gynecology unit at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital earlier this year.
“We invite the public to join us in our goal to have more cancers identified in the early stages when they are easier to treat by conducting breast self-examinations and being aware of any abnormalities in your body,” she said.
Fiji Cancer Society would also like to acknowledge the great awareness and support they receive from their other major sponsors and corporate bodies, including Colgate Palmolive, Janty Kanvan PTE Limited, Kontiki Finance Limited, ANZ bank, Inside Out, Kanalevu Kitchen, Daku Resort Savusavu, BSP bank, Pinktober Pilots, Shahana Jewels (NZ), Tanoa Group of Hotels, Rhumba Denarau Yacht Club, Value City SP Ltd and Vodafone Fiji throughout Pinktober.
Thanks to them, Fiji Cancer Society can continue to educate the community on causes of cancer and reducing risk, continue their outreach screening programmes, and importantly, continue with their patient support services.
Turning October into Pinktober wouldn’t be as successful without their wonderful and generous support.
