The Fiji Airways Fijian Drua blew away a 22-0 lead to lose 28-27 to Canberra Vikings in the National Rugby Championship’s semi-final clash yesterday.

Drua led 22-0 at halftime with tries to lock Peni Naulago, an intercept from inside centre Serupepeli Vularika and hooker Tevita Ikanivere. First five eight Enele Malele landed two conversions and a penalty for the handy lead.

The Vikings backed by their fans struck in the second half with three tries and two went to winger Tom Wright with Ryan Lonergan landing the three conversions as they trailed 22-21.

The Drua surged ahead with a try to replacement hooker Ratunaisa Navuma with the conversion going wide. The Vikings kept on and scored right on full-time to Wallabies drop out Tom Banks with Noah Lolesio’s conversion going over for the one point win. Vikings will now play Western Force in this year’s NRC final.
