An Australian senior boxing official is going to referee Saturday’s main bouts at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

This was confirmed yesterday by South Pacific Boxing Promotions promoter Freddy Chand.

“The International Boxing Organisation’s fight commissioner Justin Kennedy is coming over to control the fights,” he said.

In the main bout where the Fiji light heavyweight title is at stake sees Savenaca Naliva take on Suva’s Joseph Kwadjo.

The main supporting bout for the vacant super welterweight title is between Rakuro Daunivavana and Jese Ravudi.

Chand said this has been approved by the Boxing Commission of Fiji after they received complaints on the standard of refereeing in the country.

“The three judges are going to be appointed by the Commission,” he said.

Kennedy had been here conducting clinics to the local officials since last year while he was under the World Boxing Foundation banner.

He is also the editor of Boxrec.com and has controlled over 100 fights.
