Nausori Highlands Murder Suspect To Take Plea Next Month

Nausori highlands murder suspect Mohammed Raheesh Isoof will be taking his plea early next month.
The accused appeared before Judge Justice Rangajeeva Wimalasena at the High Court in Lautoka and was represented by Iqbal Khan of Iqbal Khan and Associates while the state was represented by Prenika Lata
Isoof is charged with five counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
It is alleged that on August 25 and 26 , Isoof murdered carpenter, Nirmal Kumar, his 54-year-old wife Usha Devi, their 34-year-old daughter, Nileshni Kajal and her two daughters Sana aged, 11 and Samara, 8.
The court heard that the accused was currently in remand.
Ms Lata said full disclosures including the post mortem report had been served to the defence counsel however she sought more time to file additional information as the CCTV footage was yet to be submitted.
Mr Khan requested for a plea date to be set for his client.
Justice Wimalasena adjourned the matter to November 5 for plea.
The accused is further remanded
