Red Cross Assisted Families Affected By Savusavu Flash Flood

Red Cross assisted two families after their homes were affected by flooding in Savusavu yesterday.
Cakaudrove Provincial Administrator Setareki Dakuiboca said it started raining earlier this week which led to the flooded roads early yesterday morning.
He said flooding had caused damages to building structures and had affected a few households.
Mr Dakuiboca advised the public to listen and adhere to the weather forecast and take all necessary precautions in keeping their families safe.
“Parents to be on the alert of the whereabouts of their children during the rainy period”.
Meanwhile, Fiji Roads Authority had alerted the public to be extremely cautious at all times.
Drivers had been advised to take extra precautions while driving because of the slippery road conditions at some places and there were traffic controllers that were on site to guide the motorists.
