A Lautoka man, who saved 8-year-old John Philip from being attacked by three dogs, is urging members of the public to restrain their pets to avoid members of the public getting injured.

The incident happened yesterday at Vomo Street, Lautoka, when young John was returning from the shop.

Peni Radrodro said he saw three dogs running after this boy who was fighting them off.

“Dogs should be tied up because kids go to the shop thinking it’s safe but it’s not,” he said.

Permanent Secretary for Agriculture Ritesh Dass said the restraining of dogs would ensure public safety.
