Fijians To Have A National Identification Card

The Fijian Government is working closely with the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise in streamlining many government services and expecting to roll out a National Identification Card by October 2021.

This was revealed by the Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while opening a regional workshop on Use Cases for Digital ID in the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva today.

“Every single Fijian will have a National Identification Card and that will be the only source of ID number that you will know, where details of all the other identification cards will be at the back end of the national ID card,” the A-G said.

“We want to make things easier for people where you don’t have to remember multiple numbers or carry multiple cards with the introduction of the single ID card.”
