‘Steelman’ Kavika Wants Heavyweight Title

Promising Jonasa ‘Steelman’ Kavika wants to take the vacant World Boxing Foundation Australasian heavyweight title to his village in Narata, Nadroga.
The 23 year old signed up in Kiran Boxing Promotions on Monday to fight James Singh for the event at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi on November 30.
Kavika beat Vilimoni Taganikoro by TKO last Saturday.
“I’ll make sure that title goes to Narata. I thank the promoter for giving me this big shot,” he said.
“This is all what we boxers look forward to. Title fights make it interesting as this is our bread and butter and the fans who love the sport.”
Kiran Boxing Promotions Ben Krishna said: “Having contest fights from time to time is no use. These boxers needs title fights. The more they get the more benefits they reap.
“I believe the fans need to watch three titles in one night so let make Fijian boxing great again.”
IBO commissioner Justin Kennedy said Kavika has improved even though he was stopped a few times in Australia.
“He had a good heavyweight fight where he boxed well.
Other fights for the night confirmed are: Fiji’s middleweight champion Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh to face Australian rising knockout star Humzah Khalid for the for the IBO Oceania Orient Super middleweight title.
In the other bout, Ronald Naidu to face Jese Ravudi for the vacant WBF Australasia super welterweight title.
