Hundreds of individuals could be victims of a visa and airline ticket scam.

Yesterday about 50 frustrated individuals gathered outside the Namaka Police Station in Nadi to lodge their complaints.

They claimed tickets and visas had been purchased from Go Local Holidays office in Martintar, Nadi but upon checking their status of the travel schedules, they found no purchase of tickets had been made.

Go Local Holidays manager Aleem Mohammed said: “The person who is in charge of issuing tickets to the clients had done the same thing to the company she worked with in Suva.

“The same scam she has done with us.

“We want to assure the public and all our clients who have booked tickets with us, we will be issuing the tickets to them on Monday.”

Mr Mohammed said those who wanted a refund for their money will be refunded and the company will bear the cost of the loss.

“Those who have paid directly to her personal account will have to wait once we verify,” he said.

“The staff involved has been terminated and the company has placed her photo in newspapers.

“At the moment we cannot comment further as the Police investigation into the matter is underway.”
