Adi Bua Raised More Than $100k

More than $100,000 was raised during the Adi Bua fundraising over the weekend.

The two-day annual event had 54 villages and nine districts in the Bua Province, which took part in a fundraising drive towards the developments projects of the Council.

The district of Wainunu raised the highest with more than $40,000.

The event was at Raralevu in Nabouwalu.

The funds raised will be directed towards their investment in the new Nabouwalu Town site. It is understood that the Government had invested $7.1 million for the development of Nabouwalu into a town.

Bua Chief Ratu Makutu Nagagavoka encouraged the people of Bua to work together to keep reviving the unique and significant traits of Bua and to ensure that their future generations are not forgotten.

Ratu Makutu is adamant on reviving the Bua dialect by expressing the importance of speaking the dialect at all times wherever they were.

Bua has a population of more than 2000 people.
