Mohammed Raheesh Isoof pleaded not guilty to five counts of murder and one count of attempted murder at the High Court in Lautoka yesterday.

Isoof appeared before Judge Justice Rangajeeva Wimalasena and was represented by  Sabrina Khan of Iqbal Khan and Associates while the state was represented by Semi Babitu.

The accused allegedly murdered carpenter Nirmal Kumar, his 54-year-old wife Usha Devi, their 34-year-old daughter Nileshni Kajal and her two daughters Sana aged 11 and Samara aged eight years old between August 25 and 26.
Mr Babitu sought for time to prepare the proposed agreed facts and also to submit further disclosures.

Justice Wimalasena asked Mr Babitu what were the further disclosures that he wished to file and Mr Babitu clarified that they were the CCTV footage.

The court heard that Isoof also was to appear in court for his bail hearing on November 13.

Justice Wimalasena adjourned the case to November 19  and further remanded the accused in custody.
