Children of Yat Sen Primary School in Suva will not be idle after their exams.

A visiting group of teachers from the Jiangsu Province in China will be indulging them in music, art, language, dancing and even kung-fu lessons until next Friday.

The last time such a group visited the school was four years ago.

Yat Sen’s Head of Department of Language and Culture, Sally Deng, said the group, led by the Jiangsu Province Chinese Affairs deputy director Wei Du, boasted 12 teachers with special skills.

“These teachers had to go through a competition to get selected for this trip. So, I guess our students are very lucky,” Ms Deng said.

“This trip was undertaken to encourage and improve the Chinese culture in Fiji. This will go a long way in helping with the language studies.

“This will also indulge the students after the exams. Some students tend to stay home after exams.”

The group will be at Yat Sen School until next Friday. The trip was supported by the Overseas Chinese Affairs of the State Council.
