Queen Of Melbourne Makes Maiden Voyage To Levuka

In an effort to continue to improve inter-island ferry services, Interlink Shipping Line Limited, Queen of Melbourne will have its first madden trip to Levuka on Monday.
This was confirmed by director operations Manoj Kumar.
Mr Kumar said the people of Levuka deserve more shipping services.
“This is going to be our first trip and we are looking forward to it,” Mr Kumar said.
“We decided to do this trip after people were asking us, so there was a lot of demand from the people. We would continue provide our service to the people.”
Queen of Melbourne will be providing the service from Natovi to the Levuka wharf and return.
“The trip would go directly to Levuka town and this would be very convenient to those living close by, the town and St John’s College end,” Mr Kumar said.
“The vessel is spacious and efficient. Travellers to the old capital will have an option as to what vessel to travel on to get to Levuka.
“There are a lot of economic activities in Levuka and our role is to provide transport.
“Queen of Melbourne is a roll on roll off inter island vessel so we are accommodating everyone including vehicles.
The Interlink Buses Limited will be picking up passengers bound for Levuka from the Suva Carrier Stand.
Those keen on purchasing tickets for the Levuka trip can do so at the Raiwaqa Transport office or at Shop 903, Suva Flea Market.
Meanwhile fastest inter island vessel Ohana continues its Nabouwalu to Natovi and return runs.
Ohana also owned by ISLL has been slicing travel time between the two ports. Travel time now is less than two hours compared to others who are hitting more than three hours for the same distance.
