Seruvakula: Nothing Can Stop Us

Fiji Airways Flying Fijians assistant coach Senirusi Seruvakula is optimistic of a good outcome against the Barbarians at Twickenham, London, next Saturday.
The side departed yesterday to face the Eddie Jones-coached star-studded side which includes legendary Irish hooker Rory Best, South Africa Rugby World Cup-winning reps Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira, Lukhanyo Am, Makazole Mapimpi, Herschel Jantjies and former first five-eight Morne Steyn.
“Anything is possible at the end of the day, we’ve kept to our game pattern and we’ve played our style, nothing can stop us,” Seruvakula said.
“It’s going to be a totally different feeling for them, especially a lot of these young boys playing in the big stage.
“From playing in the Skipper Cup Premiership and Australia National Rugby Championship (NRC), playing in a big stadium like Twickenham is an experience to remember.”
He said this should be a step-up for the 13 Fijian Drua players in the squad.
“The team comprised of young and local players with a few players from New Zealand. It’s a good mix and good exposure as this is another level,” said Seruvakula.
Since 1970 Fiji have only beaten the Barbarians 29-9 once in their first meeting at Gosforth Greyhound Stadium.
Fiji lost twice, 43-17 at Twickenham on November 30, 2013, and again 40-7 on November 11, 2016, at Belfast.
