A heavy rain alert is now in force for the entire country, with a possibility of flooding in low-lying areas taking place, the weather office in Nadi warns.

The Fiji Meteorological Services (FMS) said there would be low pressure with associated cloud and showers over Fiji and this was expected to affect the group until tomorrow.

It said the country can expect occasional showers and a few thunderstorms over most places with isolated heavy falls possible, especially in Northern and Eastern parts of Fiji.

It also said a strong wind warning is in place for Fiji waters. They are urging Fijians to take precautions and refrain from unnecessary movements.

Fiji’s cyclone season begins from November to April.
