5 Charged For Allegedly Assaulting Police Officers In Nausori

Three women and two men will be produced at the Nausori Magistrates Court today charged with serious assault after allegedly assaulting police officers on Sunday afternoon.
Four police officers were responding to a report of a fight in progress at a shop along Vuci Road when the alleged incident occurred.
The accused were warned to leave the area in which they refused and allegedly confronted and assaulted the police officers.
The first accused a 28year old farmer of Savusavu has been charged with one count of disobedience of lawful order, one count of serious assault, three counts of damaging property and one count of resisting arrest.
The second accused is a 24year old farmer of Vusuya, the third accused a 26year old hairdresser of Kuku village, fourth accused a 20year old woman and fifth accused a 43year old bartender of Narere have all been charged with one count of disobedience of lawful order and one count each of serious assault.
All five will be produced at the Nausori Magistrates Court today
