FMF Chow Games: Ragata Tops In Long Jump

Sasa, Ba native Aporosa Ragata, 12, won his first gold in the Under-10 long jump and dedicated the win to his family.
“I had to work twice as hard during the exam weeks but through my parents support, I managed to make it here,” he said.
“There were a lot of activities going on in school but I had to make time to prepare for this competition.”
Ragata added that even though it’s his first time participating, he was determined to win gold.
“I was not nervous because I prepared well.
“I believed in myself and I thanked the Lord for his blessing.
“I also want to thank my parents for their support and guidance.
“ I trained for six weeks and they have been there for me all the time
Hardworking Rakovosa

After missing out last year, the Mataso native won gold in the U14 girls 1500 metres.
“Last year I missed out because I did not prepare well,” she said.
“To win this year is special because I have worked really hard for this medal.
“I’want to join Adi Cakobau School next year.”
Meanwhile fellow Ra teammate Mere Adisere thanked her supporters for their encouragement.
“I thanked my family for their never ending support,” she said.
“My aim is to join ACS and compete at the Coke Games next year,”
