7s Captain Tells Students Key To Success

It was a unique graduation ceremony for Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam School at Koronivia in Nausori yesterday.
It especially focussed on sports apart from academic.
Fifty-nine kindergarten students graduated to enter primary level education, 75 Year 8 students will look forward to the school holidays before many become secondary school students.
The school takes special pride in its students who excel in sports. That’s why national 7s Fiji Airways National 7s captain Paula was invited as chief guest.
Mr Dranisinukula told students and teachers that it was always good to practise and put those efforts into action.
“I played rugby from Year One and training to be healthy and fit both physically and mentally kept me going.
“It does not mean when the game is around the corner then you train hard, you should be prepared and determined from day one,” he said.
He wished best wishes for the graduands and encouraged them to keep working hard in life and to recognise what they were good at and cherish their goals.
Apart from prize winners, there was a special mention for students who attained certificates for representing the Rewa district Under-14 soccer team this year.
Headteacher Muniappa Goundar said the school had now won the annual inter-primary soccer tournament four years in a row.
“Our school does not only focus on academic performance, we urge them to excel in sportsmanship and to build in values to win and meet goals in either academics as well as sports,” he said.
