Commitment Counts For Nehru Primary School Dux Siya

Staying committed to life’s priorities has its rewards and this rings true for Siya Kantaria.
“I have been through many personal commitments, but I have given priority to my studies first,” the dux of Nehru Primary School said.
“There was a time when I would come second or third. The competition was really tough for me because there were other bright students in my class.
“I would like to dedicate this achievement to my parents, teachers, friends and all those who have supported me”.
The 13-year-old also claimed the highest marks in Mathematics and Hindi in the Fiji Eight Year Examination. She scored 483 out of 500 in Fiji Year Eight Examination.
Proud mum Malti Chandra said: “I was expecting my daughter to do well in school and today she has really made us happy.”
Siya’s father Umesh Chandra was not surprised she had worked hard to attain the dux award, amid the tough competition.
“I know my daughter will do great in years to come,” he said.
