We Need To Win The Opening Two Tournaments To Set The Pace In The Series – Paula Dranisinukula

Fiji Airways Fijian 7s skipper Paula Dranisinukula did not mince his words on the team’s objective for the upcoming 2019-2020 World Sevens Series.
“We need to win the opening two tournaments to set the pace,” Dranisinukula said.
“At the moment the boys are prepared and ready to go as the main focus is to knock the first two tournaments of the series.
“We can do it as it will be good for us in the long run.”
The team departs today for the opening leg in Dubai on December 6 – 8 at The Sevens where they are pooled with France, Argentina and Japan.
The South African tournament in Cape Town will be held the following week.
The Navuniivi, Ra native said winning early will lessen pressure towards the end.
“Being number one and defending the series will be a tough as other teams will be after us. “But the boys are ready and our focus is on the series first and 2020 Olympics later.”
He urged the 7s fans in Fiji and around the globe to back the team.
Fiji last won in Dubai in 2015.
New Zealand will be defending the Dubai title.
