$10K Flower Order Boost For Suva Market Florists

Women selling flowers at the Suva Municipal Market were all smiles this week, and they had a good reason to be beaming.
Six women have just fulfilled a $10,000 order for an Australian reality television show called Bachelor in Paradise at Mango Bay.
The women at the market were visited by the production crew and the order for flowers was sealed.
Nina Tuimouta said they had been very busy since Saturday and were still on the clock as they complete their side of the order.
“Last year, five of us were involved, this year it is six. We sent two carriers on Wednesday, three yesterday and four will go today to bring more flowers,” she said.
“This is very good. We will be able to showcase our flowers and our flower arrangement to the world through this TV show.”
Asena Adi of Nausori said it was hard work paying off dividends.
“We the women have been the pillars of our families and these type of opportunities help us support our families and provide a better life for them,” she said.
The flower women at the Suva Market grow their own flowers and have suppliers, as well.
The Bachelor in Paradise is back in Fiji after filming in the country last year.
The show was also able to employ local talent in the form of the staff of the hotel where the production was shot at.
As for our flower women, they know that next year is another year the TV crew is going to be back for another order for flowers.
