Time Management Is Path To Success Says Keona

Managing her time well has allowed Keona Saukuru to complete her Level One New Zealand Academic Certificate.
The 17-year-old was a picture of humility during the Dayspring Christian College prizegiving ceremony yesterday.
She has no regrets enduring the many hurdles she encountered on the way.
“As the eldest child in my family I had to find a way to juggle extracurricular activities and focus on my studies,” Keona said.
“It was difficult because I had to complete 34 credits to pass and so juggling sports with schoolwork was tough, but I learned to manage my time well. I didn’t have the luxury to go to town every Saturday like a normal teenager. My life was basically spending time with my family, school work, sports and church.”
When alone, she sometimes felt left out.
“However, I know it was for my own good and it would pay off in the end. I feel so happy that I finally made it,” Keona said.
“For that I am forever thankful to God, my parents and everyone who helped me.”
She hails from Naviyago Village in Lautoka and has maternal links to Lomanikoro in Rewa.
She encouraged her peers and family to put God first in every decision making.
“Sometimes we rely too much on our own strength. Students nowadays need to trust and commit to God all their plans and He will do the rest for you,” Keona said.
