Serevi Steps Down As Head Coach Of Russia National 7s Team

Sevens maestro Waisale Serevi has stepped down as Head Coach of the Russia national 7s team.
A Twitter post from Serevi stating that he resigned on Thursday.
Serevi expressed his gratitude toward the Russia Union Rugby (RUR) for the time spent with the team in the last couple of months.
“I really had a great time with the boys during the last couple of months and wishing all the best to the next head coach,” he wrote.
Serevi, who was appointed as Russia coach a year ago, will continue to be a consultant for the Russia Union Rugby.
Rugby Union Russia confirmed the sevens legend’s post, saying: “Waisale Serevi has stepped down as the head coach of our national sevens team.
“We would like to thank the King for his work and achievements during his time with RUR.
“Waisale will continue to advise the RUR in a consultancy role.”
