Jenny Recalls Humble and Emotional Journey With Late Husband

It has been a humbling and emotional journey for Jenny Seeto.
She was awarded the Officer of the Order of Fiji medal during the 2018 Order of Fiji Awards at the State House in Suva yesterday.
It has only been a few months since the death of her husband, Dixon Seeto, whom she described as her pillar of strength.
“Dixon encouraged me all the way and he always supported me,” she said.
“My journey with the community was really following in his footsteps, he always believed in having people ready to step in so I was really his apprentice though we had differing opinions at times that added more value to our discussions and solutions.
“I am grateful to all those who have given me the opportunity to serve and work with them. Without their support and that of my family, I would not have been able to contribute. So Vinaka vakalevu to them.
“I am humbled to receive this great honour. I wish to sincerely thank His Excellency the President and the College of Honour for this recognition.
“It was unexpected – when I do the little things in the community and in my profession, it is really to make use of my knowledge, experience and skills which the good Lord has blessed me with and for this I am thankful.
“Being able to help in any way brings great satisfaction to me and when my late husband was around, to us both.”
Ms Seeto used to be a managing partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and following that had been involved in community work and related programmes.
She is also actively involved in the Fiji Chinese community.
