The commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto, is one of the new board members of the Fiji National Rugby League.

The others elected during the annual general meeting yesterday are Ilaitia Tagituimua, Tevita Korosaya, Aporosa Lutunauga, Taniela Vakamoce and Napolioni Batimala.

Those who have left the board are Tomi Finau, Mesake Navugona, Saimone Lomaloma, Maika Vunivere, Jonetani Nasau, Joe Tabuya, Mili Natuiyaga with (Co-Op) Joe Gray and Elesi Ketedromo.

FNRL acting chief executive officer (CEO) Don Natabe applauded the outgoing board’s hard work.

“The outgoing board decreased the number of expenditure while ensuring rugby league was not affected,” he said.

“They reduced net-loss for the previous year so we take our hats-off for the job well done.”

“The old board left the sport at a much better place than before.

“The incoming board will meet the outgoing board within 14 days for proper handover.”
