The Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay lit up its Christmas tree on Friday, marking a time to celebrate, give and share holiday cheers.

As part of the holy season, the resort again hosted its prize giveaways for the most creative artwork, portraying the Christmas theme with Christmas Carols.

This is part of the collaborative work between the resort and the International Inner Wheel (Germany) championed by Katrin Dressino, the wife of resort general manager Silvano Dressino.

“Christmas is a time to celebrate, to give and to share holiday cheer. Witness Santa’s arrival, and for the tree lighting ceremony, we did the Annual Christmas Artwork,”

“What we found was that some parents find it challenging to buy school uniforms for their Year Ones because a lot of people don’t have that much money.”she said.

Ms Dressino said 82 shoe vouchers were presented to students from Tau Primary, Ratu Nemani Memorial, Nawai Primary and Savusavu Primary schools.

“We had some great beautiful art work and it is always hard to choose.

“But we are very delighted to do that with the support from my friends from Germany.

“It is our third Christmas and I think the resort grows and it is more beautiful than ever and overall it is a joyous time of the year,” she said.

Savusavu Public School head teacher Roneel Raj said: “It is quite impressive because they have been supportive for the last three years. Especially when the guests are here with their donations.

“They helped us many times. Their provision is good and very helpful to students. They provide stationery and also there are seven schools which are connected which they also provide renovation for their school buildings,” he said.
