Roy Krishna has been nominated for the Indian Super League’s Hero of the Month award for his stellar performances in the month of November for ATK.

The Vodafone national team captain is yet to hit top form but managed two goals and an assist in three November matches for ATK.

Krishna also scored a late goal against Mumbai City FC on Sunday to save the Kolkata-based club from defeat.

The goal took Krishna’s goal tally to four for the season.

The result helped ATK retain top spot in the ISL standings.

His Australian strike partner, David Williams, won the award in October, but November belonged to Krishna.

The 32-year-old’s most notable display came against Jamshedpur FC on November 10.

The Siberia, Labasa, native won and converted two penalties, and also provided the assist for Edu Garcia’s third goal in the 3-1 victory.

The Fiji international was always tipped to succeed in the league and November showcased exactly why.

He was nominated alongside Sergio Castle of Jamshedpur, Odisha FC’s Adriane Santana, FC Goa’s Mourtada Fall and Bengaluru FC goalkeeper Gurpeet Singh.

Fans and a panel of experts will cast their vote the next few days to determine the winner.

Krishna signed for ATK this year after six largely successful seasons with A-League side Wellington Phoenix, scoring 51 goals in 122 games.

His acquisition was seen as a major statement of intent by ATK, who last won the competition in 2016.
