A 36-year-old Labasa nightclub employee was arrested after a search conducted inside his vehicle resulted in the discovery of two brown bags of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The search was conducted yesterday by a team of officers manning a roadblock near Nasekula.

The alleged seized substances were packed in what looked like small bags of yaqona.

The seized substances have been sent for analysis as investigations continue.

Meanwhile officers conducted a follow up raid at a farm known for the cultivation of marijuana as part of their mop-up exercise in Tukavesi yesterday morning.

The team trekked up the Dawabalavu Hill, Nanovu, Tukavesi in the early hours were they discovered the plants believed to be marijuana ranging from 1.5 to 4 meters.

The owner of the farm is yet to be located and the seized plants have been sent for analysis.
