The Denarau Corporation PTE Limited (DCL) hosted a fundraising golf tournament in Nadi last Saturday for the Veilomani Boys Home and Treasure House Christian Children’s Home.

The third annual charity event was held at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club which was sponsored by Fiji Airways and Marriott International Fiji.

Chairman Pramesh Sharma said DCL supported registered charitable organisations and assisting the greater Denarau community as part of its social corporate responsibility. “The Denarau community through this event will be supporting good charity initiatives. The charity fund is managed by DCL,” he said.

“The event was hosted for two charity organisations, namely Treasure House Christian Children’s Home and Veilomani Boys Home.”

Meanwhile, event co-ordinator, Teri Swann said they have pledged $10,000 to each organisation for their capital projects.

She said last year’s donation was directed to the National Fire Authority for their fire trucks and they aim to continue supporting charitable organisations in future.

“This is an annual event and we had 28 teams competing,” Swann added.
