Top China University Offers Sports Scholarships

Fijian athletes and officials are welcome to study at one of the finest sports university in China through its International Sports scholarship.
This was announced by Lunhao Xia, vice-president of Beijing Sports University (BSU) during a meeting with the Minister for Industrial Relations, Employment and Youth & Sports, Parveen Kumar.
“The scholarship we offer is called The Belton Road Scholarship and we have an academic board to decide upon the grant of this scholarship,” Xia said.
“We agree to offer you five spots through the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Fiji.
“These scholarships are offered in three categories, Bachelor, Masters and PhD level and students who are not fluent in Chinese will be sponsored to study Chinese for a year.”
Kumar thanked the University for the offer and said his ministry is committed to the implementation of these scholarships in 2020. He is currently in Beijing on an official visit through the invitation of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Fiji.

BSU was formerly known as Central Institute of Physical Education and Beijing Institute of Physical Education, It was founded in 1953.
It is a nation-level public university located in Beijing, China. It is one of the National Key Universities and also a Project 211 University under direct leadership of the General Administration of Sport of China.
BSU is consistently ranked as the top institute for sport studies in China and enjoys prestigious reputation both at home and abroad.
In 2015, Beijing Sport University was ranked as an “elite university” with 6-star status by the CUAA.[2] It is a Chinese Ministry of Education Double First Class Discipline University, with Double First Class status in certain disciplines.
