Fiji Airways’ second A350 aircraft ‘Island of Vanua Levu’ is expected to touch-down at Nadi International Airport tonight.

The first A350 aircraft arrived in Fiji on November 23, 2019.

Aviation Toulouse on December 15 reported: “The second Fiji Airways A350 just left Toulouse on its delivery flight to Los Angeles then home to Fiji.”

Fiji Airways General Manager, Corporate Communications Shane Hussein confirmed that the new aircraft was likely to land at Nadi around 9.15pm tonight.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and a Fijian delegation are also confirmed to be on board the new plane on its journey home today.

Mr Hussein said there was a traditional cere (welcome) planned out for the arrival of the aircraft.

He added that students from various special schools and children’s home will be special guests at the welcoming ceremony.

He said: “This welcoming ceremony is a little bit different. It’s an evening arrival from Los Angeles and the special guests at the event will be children, quite a few of them, from the various Homes and Special Schools around Nadi and Lautoka.

“It will be another special arrival event for us as we welcome our second A350 aircraft, Island of Vanua Levu.”

The children who will be special guests at the event will also be presented with Christmas gifts from the Prime Minister.
