Major Pio Varawa has added another feather to his cap after he graduated from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) with a Masters in Strategy and Security last week.

He did this while on secondment with the Australian Defence Force Academy.

He is the Liaison Officer for all international military cadet officers undergoing the four-year undergraduate programme with the Australian Defence Force Academy.

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) currently have three Fijian Cadet officers enrolled in the undergraduate programme.

While undertaking his secondment responsibilities, Major Varawa enrolled himself at the University of New South Wales for the two-year programme.

Brigadier General Ro Jone Kalouniwai recently said: “He is the first Military Officer of the RFMF to have successfully graduated from UNSW in Canberra Australia and has set a high benchmark for the younger officers and aspiring Cadet officers in undertaking such academic programmes under the Defence Co-operation Programme between the RFMF and the ADF.”
