The Minister for Health, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete, is touring three islands in the Lau group, commonly referred to as yasayasa Moala, with three medical teams.

The first team will provide measles vaccination, the second team will conduct circumcision while the third team will deal with the dental needs of the villagers.

Dr Waqainabete will host a talanoa session with the villagers at the Yaroi Community Hall and the vaccination team will continue their mass vaccination campaign.

Matuku Health Centre Staff nurse, Ronald Chand said a nurse would be at the health centre carrying out vaccinations as well.

He said a team would visit Levukaidaku and Qalikarua villages.

Mr Chand will lead the team visiting Lomaji, Raviravi and Makadru villages.

The surgical team will carry out circumcision. He said the Minister started the tour at Moala before visiting Totoya and Matuku.

Yasayasa Moala comprise the islands of Matuku, Moala and Totoya.

Dr Waqainabete and the teams left on Tuesday on board the hospital boat Veivueti and are expected to return tomorrow.
