Catimaibulu Laid To Rest, Accorded Full Military Funeral

An intelligence officer and driver at the Prime Minister’s Office, Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2), Filimoni Catimaibulu was laid to rest at the 9 miles cemetery on Monday.
He died at his residence at Vesivesi Road, Kinoya. He was 60.
WO2 Catimaibulu was accorded a full military funeral with the approval of the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto.
RFMF Chaplin, Reverend Captain Viliame Tunidau, during the funeral service at the Kinoya Methodist Church, described WO2 Catimaibulu as a dedicated and faithful worker.
WO2 Catimaibulu started his military service by joining the Six Fiji Infantry Regiment (6 FIR) under the Territorial Force.
He joined the regular force in 1989 and the 3FIR in 1993. He was later called to join the Prime Minister’s Office. When he retired, he was contracted to continue working until his death.
WO2 Catimaibulu served in the Multinational Force and Observers (MF0) in Sinai and in the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and in Timor-Leste.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, the RFMF Commander and senior civil servants were among those at the funeral service.

The late WO2 Catimaibulu hailed from Moce in Lau.
He is survived by his wife Temalesi Nukuyawa Catimaibulu, four children and three grandchildren.
