If you will be in the Northern Division, today you might want to consider attending the New Year’s street party at the Seaqaqa Shopping Centre at Macuata Province.

The Seaqaqa Street Party organising committee chairperson Lakhan Kumar said preparations have been going on for a week.

“We are very happy that Tropical Cyclone Sarai has left the North, allowing us to provide what the people of the Friendly North need,” Mr Kumar said.

“We have been organising this annual event since 2011 in this small sugarcane township.”

He said the programme would start at 8pm.

“We are urging people to join us with their families and friends as we will be providing all kinds of entertainment till 12 midnight,” he said.

“The major sponsor for this programme is Seaqaqa Shopping Centre and other sponsors are Vodafone Fiji Limited and Nazia Hire Services and Sawmilling. I believe we are the only ones in Vanua Levu having a street party.

“The purpose of having this event is to allow people to come together as a family and end the year 2019 on a high note and begin 2020 with high hopes and joy.

“Everyone is welcome to attend as it is free entry.”
