People from all walks of life came in numbers to welcome the upcoming year 2020 at Port Denarau in Nadi yesterday.

The Mix FM New Year’s Bash lived up to its expectation.

Port Denarau Centre Management Limited General Manager Aysha Koya said they had been hosting the New Year’s Bash for the last five years.

“In this fifth year, this was the biggest crowd. We did not expect such as massive crowd here tonight to welcome 2020.”

The turnout was huge despite the team not advertising the event with Tropical Cyclone Sarai lurking around the Fiji Group in the weekend.

Mix FM Disc Jockey Michael (Bala) Faga aka ‘Love Guru’  was at the forefront of the entertainment.

“With all street parties cancelled in the entire Western Division, it was a success to welcome the new year with such a big number,” he said.

This event was non-alcoholic and fit for the whole family.

At the same time, the Denarau Yacht Club hosted their event at Port Denarau.

“People came dressed in their absolute best because we planned to throw one insane party at the best venue,” DYC and Rhum-Bar co-director Mike Dennis said.
